 Admission Process
The general process of admission in B.Tech in most colleges is similar. Students need to appear for an engineering entrance examination. Various state and national level competitive exams for B.Tech are held across India. Many institutes have their own examination. After securing a rank in the exams, students are called for counseling. Students get seats based on counseling.

Admission requirements
To apply for a B.Tech course, candidates must have passed their higher secondary examination (Class XII) from a recognized board or university in science stream. In some institutes, English is also a mandatory subject in class XII. Overall score should be at least 50%.

Admission Forms
Admission forms are available once major boards declare their 10+2 results. Availability of forms varies from colleges to colleges. Students must keep a close watch on colleges and check out their official portals to know about availability of forms. Normally, all forms have common information to fill like:

·         Name
·         Date of Birth
·         Gender
·         Address
·         Educational Qualification
·         Telephone Number
·         Marks Obtained in Class X and XII
·         Name of Institute/Board

Students must also fill information regarding physical disabilities and domicile status.
Candidates must carefully fill up the application form and fill the correct details. If at any stage of admission, it is found that the information is not correct, admission will be  automatically rejected. Therefore, it is important to fill up the admission form correctly with utmost caution.

Documents required during counseling
During counseling students need to carry their passport size photographs, admit card and certain attested documents like copies of their mark sheet, school leaving certificate, etc. Those who belong to SC/ST or OBC need to carry a proof for the same. Physically challenged candidates need to carry documents of the same.
